Terry Lee Williams Star Student Award

We are proud to announce that Asia Hypsher is the 2017 Marietta High School Star Student and the first winner of the Terry Lee Williams Star Student Award!

Marietta Schools Foundation is pleased to announce a new Endowment!. This Endowment was created for the Terry Lee Williams Star Student Award. For those that may not know, the Star Student is the individual who receives the highest SAT score among the top 10% of SAT scores at MHS.

Parents Talmadge and Joan Williams established this Endowment in 2016 in memory of their son, Terry Lee, who passed away in 2007. Terry graduated from MHS in 1977, and was selected the Star Student of his class. He graduated from the University of Georgia with a BA degree in Sculpture. He had been a sculptor, set designer for television and movies, artisan for the Smithsonian and Carlos museums, and writer of stories and screen plays.

This award is the embodiment of Terry’s scholastic achievements and his creative spirit.

The Terry Lee Williams Star Student Endowment is one of 40 Endowments created to support the students of the Marietta City School System.  Please take a few minutes to visit our DONATE page to view all the opportunities to give to the Endowment of your choice.
