Beverly McAfee wins 2017 Woman of the Year!

Marietta Schools Foundation’s own Beverly McAfee, one of 15 outstanding women in our community, were honored and inducted into the Academy of Women Leaders.

It was no surprise to us that Ms. McAfee walked away with the Woman of the Year Award presented during Friday evening’s 32nd Annual Tribute to Women of Achievement held at the Cobb Galleria Centre in a crowd of over 700 supporters.  The event benefited liveSAFE Resources’ (formerly the YWCA of Northwest Georgia). Beverly has been involved with the MSF since the beginning and currently serves on the Board of Directors.  She captures the attention of everyone at the board room table (and where ever she may be) when she tells the stories of “her kids” at the Marietta Mentoring for Leadership(MFL) program.  Beverly is the founder of the non-profit Marietta Mentoring for Leadership and has dedicated her life to mentoring those around her.  The mentoring program matches students possessing demonstrated potential but limited opportunities with community mentors who encourage and support each student to reach their full potential.  Marietta Mentoring has served well over 150 students and has awarded two scholarships to two well deserving students for 2015 and 2016 and that will continue for many years to come. Please join us in supporting Mrs. Beverly McAfee as 2017 Woman of the Year!

The Beverly McAfee Mentoring for Leadership Endowment is one of 40 Endowments created to support the students of the Marietta City School System.  Please take a few minutes to visit our DONATE page to view all the opportunities to give to the Endowment of your choice. “YOU CAN MAKE A DIFFERENCE
