The Michelle Cooper Kelly (MCK) Scholarship honors a Marietta High School senior who have demonstrated extraordinary leadership and impact in their school and community.  MCK youth leadership scholarship is awarded annually to a Marietta High School senior who motivates and lead others in and out of the classroom

Former Councilwoman Michelle Cooper Kelly served 8 years on the Marietta City Council as Councilwoman and Mayor Pro Tem’.  Michelle Cooper Kelly have lived in the City of Marietta for over 27 years with her husband and three kids who attended and graduated from Marietta High School.

Michelle’s volunteerism started in the Marietta School system advocating for kids and their education.  Michelle served in many capacities, from PTSA President, PTSA Vice-President, School Council, and School Governance Board member.

A native of North Carolina, Michelle graduated from North Carolina Agricultural and Technical State University and Columbia Southern University.  Applicants for the scholarship must meet the following requirements:

 Qualifications:

  1. Graduating Senior accepted to an accredited College.
  2. Cumulative GPA of 3.2 or higher (weighted)
  3. Letter from non-profit organization demonstrating community service and leadership – 20 hours minimum
